How we help

What mental health services does Lumeva Wellness offer?

Our three mental health services Minneapolis adults choose from are individual therapy, psychiatric care with medication management, and Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS). Every plan draws from one or more of them, and nothing is bundled. You only use what fits.

Counseling and therapy

One-on-one talk therapy built around evidence-based approaches.
Your therapist gets to know your patterns, not just your symptoms, and sessions focus on practical tools you can use the same week you learn them. Visits are in person or by telehealth.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT): works with the thought patterns behind anxiety and depression
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills: build skills for managing strong emotions
Trauma-informed methods: process difficult experiences at a pace that feels safe

Psychiatric care and medication management

A thorough evaluation first, then medication management only if medication is right for you.
You stay in charge of every treatment decision, and your prescriber explains each recommendation in plain language. Visits are in person or by telehealth.
Thorough evaluation: your full history, medical, psychiatric and personal, before any medication is discussed
Clear explanations: what a medication does, what to expect and what the alternatives are
Ongoing follow-up: visits focus on how things are going and on adjusting course when they are not

Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS)

Hands-on, skills-based support delivered where you live your life.
ARMHS is for adults managing persistent mental illness, and Minnesota sets the eligibility rules. Support happens at home or in the community.
Daily living skills: budgeting, cooking, hygiene routines and organization, built around your actual home
Community integration: the social and practical skills that make work, appointments and community life more manageable
Symptom management: concrete coping strategies for the day-to-day symptoms that can derail routines and relationships
Choosing a service

Adult mental health treatment Minneapolis: which service fits my situation?

Start with therapy if you want to talk things through, a psychiatric evaluation if symptoms affect daily life or you have a medication question, or ARMHS if persistent mental illness makes daily tasks hard.
You can add another of our mental health services Minneapolis adults use later if your needs change. In a little more detail:
Therapy
suits stress, low mood, relationships and big life changes, where tools and a place to talk make the difference.
A psychiatric evaluation
suits symptoms that disrupt sleep, focus or mood, or a question about whether medication could help.
ARMHS
suits adults with persistent mental illness who need hands-on help with daily routines at home or in the community.
More than one fits? Begin with whichever feels most pressing, and we will help you decide what to add.

How it works

Therapy and medication management Minneapolis: how do the services work together?

They work together through one plan: your first evaluation decides which services fit your life, and your providers can then coordinate around it.
That matters most when things change. If a medication adjustment affects your therapy goals, or a hard week means your ARMHS support should shift, your care team can adjust together, so you are not starting your story over.

Can I use just one service, like therapy alone?

Yes. Many people start with a single service. The first evaluation is there to make sure the service you choose matches what you need. Nothing is bundled or required.
Concerns adults bring

Mental health services for adults Minnesota: which concerns can they help with?

They can help with a wide range of adult concerns, from anxiety and depression to persistent mental illness.
Common concerns include:
Anxiety disorders
Depression
ADHD
Bipolar disorder
PTSD and trauma
OCD
Grief and life transitions
Persistent mental illness
You do not need to know your diagnosis before you reach out. If you are not sure whether your concern fits, just ask us. Our services are for adults 18 and older. We do not provide care for children or teens.
Getting started

What happens at my first visit for each service?

Each of our mental health services Minneapolis adults use begins with a real conversation, not a quick screening, and there is no judgment in the room.

Therapy

You talk through your history, what brought you in and what you hope will change. There is no pressure to have it all figured out beforehand.

Psychiatric care

A full evaluation of your history, current symptoms, past treatment, medical conditions and medications, with time for your questions. If medication is an option, we discuss what it does, side effects to watch for and alternatives, including not starting.

ARMHS

A diagnostic assessment to confirm eligibility and identify the daily challenges to work on, followed by an individual treatment plan with personal goals.
Common questions

What should I know before I book?

You do not need a referral, and we will confirm the earliest available appointment when you contact us.
Do I need a referral to start?
No. Adults can contact us directly by phone, message or online booking. A referral from a primary care doctor or another clinic is welcome but not required. Some insurance plans have their own referral rules, so it is worth checking yours.
How soon can I be seen?
Contact us and we will confirm the earliest available appointment. If you are in crisis, call 911, or call or text the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline right away.
From home or in person

Telehealth mental health Minnesota: can I have visits from home?

Yes. Therapy and psychiatric visits are available by telehealth, and in-person visits are available at our office in Minneapolis. The National Institute of Mental Health notes that treatment can be given in person or through a phone or computer.
For a telehealth visit, choose a private, quiet space with a steady internet connection. ARMHS is delivered at home or in the community instead. Not sure whether telehealth suits you? Ask us.
Coverage and cost

How do I pay for these services?

You can pay through your insurance plan or with self-pay, and we check your benefits before your first visit at no cost to you.
The cost of mental health services Minneapolis adults use depends on your plan. ARMHS is covered under Minnesota Medical Assistance for people who meet eligibility requirements. If you are uninsured or between plans, we offer self-pay options.
