Who can refer
Who can make a mental health referral to Lumeva Wellness?
Any professional involved in a patient’s care can refer a patient to our mental health clinic, including primary care physicians, therapists and psychiatric providers, case managers, hospital discharge planners, and school or employee assistance program counselors.
Patients can also contact us on their own, so a referral is never required. A referral from someone who already knows the patient’s history does help our clinicians prepare for a more useful first appointment.
Family members and caregivers who reach out for someone else should call or message us first. Consent paperwork has to be in place before our team can discuss any specific patient’s care.

Do I need the patient’s consent before I refer them?
Yes. Submit a referral only with the patient’s knowledge and consent, ideally after you have talked it through with them.
With a signed release on file, we can share scheduling updates and coordinate ongoing care with you.
Who can be referred
Who can be referred to our mental health clinic?
Lumeva Wellness serves adults who need psychiatric evaluation and medication management, counseling and therapy, or ARMHS support, in person or by telehealth.
You do not need to know which service fits best. The first visit is a full evaluation of about an hour, and it ends with a specific recommendation for one service or a combination. Our therapist, prescriber, and ARMHS practitioner work from the same treatment plan, so a referral that starts with one request, such as medication management, can turn into a fuller picture once the patient is evaluated. As the referring provider, you stay informed with consent.
We verify insurance benefits at no cost to the patient, and a self-pay option is available. Coverage details are on our insurance page.

Services
What can I refer a patient to Lumeva Wellness for?
You can refer a patient for psychiatric care and medication management, therapy, or ARMHS, and our clinical team confirms the right fit at intake.
Psychiatric referral
A psychiatric referral starts with a 60 minute evaluation that reviews the patient’s medical, psychiatric, and personal history before any medication is discussed. Follow up visits run 20 to 30 minutes.
Therapy referral in Minnesota
A therapy referral means 50 minute sessions, weekly or biweekly, in person or by telehealth, using approaches such as CBT, DBT skills, and trauma informed care. Add the patient’s main concerns on the form.
ARMHS referral in Minneapolis
Mention ARMHS on the form and include any diagnosis or functional impairment documentation you already have, since it speeds up the eligibility review. ARMHS is designed for adults living with persistent mental illness who benefit from hands on support at home or in the community. A dedicated practitioner works with the patient on daily living skills, community integration, and symptom management.
After you submit
What happens after I submit a referral?
Our team contacts the patient directly, and most new patients are offered an intake appointment within two to three weeks.
We do not leave scheduling entirely to the patient. That matters most when someone is managing a lot, because one missed callback can let a referral quietly fall through. You receive updates only when consent is on file.
2 to 3 weeks
Typical wait for an intake offer for most new patients
